On behalf of the International Weed Science Society, Asian-Pacific Weed Science Society and Weed Science Society of China, it gives us an immense pleasure to invite you to participate in the forthcoming joint congress: 9th Internationals Weed Science Congress (IWSC), 29th Asian Pacific Weed Science Society Conference(APWSSC), and 17th China Weed Science Conference(CWSC): "New Technology Leads The Way of Weed Science" that will take place from October 19-24, 2025, in Nanjing, China.
The Board of Directors of IWSS, APWSS, and WSSC, CSPP together with the LOC are collaborating with the SPC, to offer an up-to-date scientific program including oral presentations and posters covering the most important challenges in weed science. Well renowned world scientists will be invited to discuss a wide range of topics and sessions to generate useful recommendations to overcome weed science challenges. In keeping with the traditions, there will also be optional workshops and training courses before the congress starts or concurrently. In addition, professional excursions encompassing the advanced Chinese agriculture, combined with touristic attractions are planned which will accommodate both scientists and accompanying persons to join and enjoy the congress. There will be a specific program for budding weed scientists&students during the congress.
China, with over 800 million farmers has made significant progress in weed technology. It is the world's largest producer and exporter of pesticides, with over 2000 pesticide production enterprises. Almost 70% of pesticide raw materials in global market are produced here. China's bio-breeding enterprises are emerging now. October is the best season in Nanjing, and also the harvesting season. Through field trips, you will also discover a rural scenery in autumn Nanjing, Jiangsu province.

It is with great pleasure and honor that we invite you to participate in the joint congress—9th International Weed Science Congress/29th Asian Pacific Weed Science Society Conf erence/l 7th China Weed Science Society Congress: New Technology Leads The Way of Weed Science that will be held on October 19-24, 2025, in Nanjing, China.
The Congress is a global platform for scientists involved in weed science, to disseminate new findings, new control technologies, modern equipment and other relevant scientific achievements. It also provides good opportunities for scientists to establish collaborations. We encourage all participants to take this opportunity and submit abstracts of your work, for possible inclusion in the program.
Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province in the southeast of China, is renowned for its rich history. Strategically located on the south bank of the eastern Yangtze River, Nanjing has been a significant political and cultural center throughout different eras. It served as the capital of early southern regimes and was the Southern Capital during the Ming dynasty. From 1912 to April 1949, it was the seat of the Nationalist Government. With its rich and complex history, Nanjing has many historical and cultural relics around the city. The most popular ones: Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Confucius Temple, Zhonghua Gate, Qin Huai River, Rain Flower Terrace, Purple Mountain Observatory, Xuanwuhu Lake, Linggu Temp, Site of Ming Palace, etc. In addition to the scientific sessions and presentations, it is a good chance to explore the enchanting city of Nanjing, steeped in history and cultural significance.
